This is a translation for convenience. In case of doubt, the German version is the legally binding one.

There is no obligation to appoint a data protection officer under Art. 37 GDPR in conjunction with § 38 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

2. General principles

We process personal data only where this is necessary for providing this website and the associated offerings, or where you have consented to it. Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

Transmission is encrypted throughout via HTTPS (TLS). You can recognise this by the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar.

3. Hosting and server log files

The host processes the data arising when the website is accessed on our behalf. The basis for this is a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. According to the provider, the servers are located in Germany.

Each time a page is accessed, the server automatically stores data in so-called log files:

IP address of the requesting device
date and time of access
name and URL of the file retrieved
volume of data transferred and notification of successful retrieval
the previously visited page (referrer), where transmitted by the browser
the browser used, its version and the operating system

This processing is technically necessary in order to deliver the website, to ensure its stability and security and to defend against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and trouble-free operation of the website. This data is not merged with other data sources, nor is it evaluated in a person-related way. The log files are deleted regularly and at the latest after seven days; longer storage of individual data is only possible in the event of a concrete security incident.

4. No cookies, no tracking, no external services

This website sets no cookies. There is no reach measurement, no web analytics and no profiling. No third-party services are embedded — in particular no Google Fonts, no content delivery networks, no map, video or social media embeds and no advertising networks. Accessing these pages therefore transmits no data to third parties.

The typefaces used are stored locally on our server and loaded from there.

5. Local storage in your browser

On the Open Call page you can fill in a multi-step form. So that your entries are not lost if you close the page by accident, the intermediate state is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. This data is never transmitted to us or to any third party. It remains on your device until you submit the form, discard the draft, or delete website data in your browser.

This access to your terminal equipment does not require consent under § 25 (2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDG), because it is strictly necessary in order to provide this service which you have expressly requested. No such storage takes place on any other page of the website.

6. Contact by email

If you write to us by email, we process your sender address and all the information you provide in your message in order to deal with your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry is aimed at concluding or performing a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

We delete this data as soon as your request has been dealt with conclusively and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way. Please note that the transmission of unencrypted email can have security gaps.

7. Open Call: submitting contributions

The form on the Open Call page stores nothing on our web server and sends nothing automatically. When you click “Submit” at the end, your own email programme opens with a prepared message to contact@re-connection.info. You decide yourself whether to send that message. Sending takes place via your own email provider, who is responsible for their own data processing.

We process the contributions we receive in order to decide on their inclusion in the programme of the Winter Workshop and to be in contact with you about it. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request). We delete submissions at the latest six months after the event has concluded, unless further collaboration arises from them and provided no statutory retention obligations apply.

8. Event mailing list

If you ask us by email to inform you about upcoming events, we store your email address and the name you provide exclusively for that purpose. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future; an informal message to contact@re-connection.info is sufficient. After withdrawal we delete your data from the mailing list. No newsletter service provider is used.

9. Links to external websites

Individual pages link to third-party offerings, for example to the event calendar and ticket shop of riesa efau. Simply visiting our pages transmits no data to them. Only when you actively click such a link do you reach the website in question; their privacy provisions then apply, over which we have no influence.

10. Recipients and transfers to third countries

Apart from our host as a processor, we do not pass your data on to third parties unless we are legally obliged to do so. No transfer takes place to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.

11. Your rights

You have the following rights with regard to the personal data concerning you:

right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)

An informal message to contact@re-connection.info is sufficient to exercise these rights. Insofar as we process data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you may object to the processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.

12. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

13. No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

14. Changes to this policy

We will adapt this privacy policy as soon as the legal situation or our offering changes — for example if the Open Call form is processed server-side in future.
